Heather Hanssen serves as a Coordinator for Career Services at Florida Polytechnic University, an all-STEM public university in Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Florida State University. With a background in housing and orientation, Heather transitioned into Career Services to support students in navigating their professional journeys. As part of her role, she contributes to a student leadership program, U Lead, assisting with the application process, selection, and professional development of student leaders across campus. She approaches her work through a lens of accessibility, driven by a strong professional interest in creating more inclusive career programs and resources. She is passionate about learning more about this area to better support all students, including those with disabilities, in achieving their goals.
